Is Call of Duty getting old?

I have been a huge Call of Duty fan since 'Call of Duty 4'. I think the single player and multiplayer  are phenomenal; however, as I keep playing, I feel that every Call of Duty is the same exact thing. A super short campaign and a repetitive multiplayer mode. Black ops changed multiplayer up a bit by adding Wager matches, but it doesn't cut it for me. As much as I get sick of Call of Duty, I end up comparing every other shooter to it. Every shooter I have played so far can't compare to Call of Duty. Every Cod I have played has had a lot of imbalances but it still becomes the best selling game of that year.

  1. I know what you mean. I've been feeling pretty jaded towards almost all the recent FPS's. It just feels like more of the same.

    Cool blog, man! Follow'd

  4. I have been gaming for a while, used to game competitively but I guess so did every gamer..

I still compare every shooter to Quake 3 Rocket Arena and Quake 3 Arena..
Call me old fashioned but they just did something right..

CoD 4 caught my Eye as being fun and Cod 4-2 Felt like a much needed expansion pack rather than a sequel..

Black ops too me had a flimsy plot and only really added new maps too Nazi Zombies and wager matches.. But I still find myself playing Quake 3 Rocket Arena at least once a week, Not bad for a game that came out in 1999, and has been re-released on every new console to come out.

  5. CODs are definiately getting old. I mean, just look how much they have developed from cod 4 to black ops. Can't see the difference? Because there is no difference!

It's the same game but with different guns, the graphics are also getting worse which is preposterous.

All CODs that came after cod4 are rubbish, you shouldn't make the same mistake I did by buying them. I played black ops for a total of 10hrs and then stopped playing. Would be cool to get my money back, it's not even working properly> menu laggy etc.

  8. I feel you bro. But the repetition is what people enjoy. I have never played a game that is 100% balanced either

  14. I kinda think so. I burned through Black Ops quickly. It was fun, but I was getting bored.

  15. I agree. It does get old, needs some change. They should put more time into it instead of spitting them out so fast.

  20. I feel like Black Ops was a breath of fresh air after Modern Warfare. Hell, even Halo: Reach changed things up enough from 3 to keep me playing since the midnight release.

  26. CoD can never get old. Look at counter-strike (pre-source). It still has a LOT of players.

  27. I've become pretty bored of playing it on my own now that I'm level 70 10th prestige and got the titles I want. I've recently started playing homefront though and thats good, although the online has a lot of troubles to be fixed!
